First Snow - sort of...

Following a beautiful - if somewhat chilly - Sparkle Weekend (November 30 - December 2 for 2007 - for 2008 it will be December 5-7), with lots of sales, great shopping, L.L. Bean's Northern Lights, fireworks, a parade, dozens of tubas playing Christmas carols, theater, and a warm and cozy B&B Open House, we had our first real snow of the winter.

OK, for the purists, we had a little dusting of snow just before Thanksgiving, but the grass was more green than white, so that doesn't really count, does it?

We were predicted to have a winter storm of about 3 inches last night (Sunday, December 2), with more today. We awoke to have about 6 inches on the ground, and it has been snowing and blowing all day, so it looks like we'll have quite a bit more before the day is over.

If you're planning to do some Christmas or holiday shopping, we hope you'll come to Freeport, to the home of L.L. Bean and its several stores, as well as home to hundreds of other shops and restaurants. Check out our Specials page for bargains at Brewster House!
