Shopping in the Freeport Area

Freeport shopping at L.L. Bean Freeport is the perfect area to use as a base for your Maine vacation! Our central location places you in close proximity to many other popular areas. There are so many things to do and see, that you may wish to spend several days with us! You can view spectacular coastal scenery (lighthouses, hidden harbors with lobster shacks, maybe even see a moose!), enjoy wonderful outdoor activities, discover Maine history, and shop, shop, shop.

L.L. Bean's five stores plus over 160 other stores and outlets are within a few short blocks of a Brewster House. The L.L. Bean campus includes Discovery Park, where each Saturday evening from July through Labor Day weekend free concerts are given with seating on the grass, and for some performers, grandstand seating is erected. The L.L. Bean events calendar provides details on the concerts, as well as in-store seminars and special events.

The L.L. Bean stores include the flagship store, where the company was founded in 1917, their Hunting and Fishing Store, their Bike, Boat and Ski Store, the new Home Store, and, of course, the L.L.Bean OutletĀ®. The Outlet is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., 7 days a week (10 a.m. to 6pm on Sunday). The other stores are open 24 hours, every day.

Many of the over 160 Freeport shops and restaurants offer coupon specials and other promotions. The Freeport Visitors Guide and map provide locations of all the stores and outlets. Information on discount coupons and specials can be found online at the Freeport Merchant's Association web site.

Neighboring towns also have many antique and collectible shops, as well as specialty shops such as for quilting, knitting and other crafts. There is a map of some of the antique and collectible shops in the area on our blog post, "Looking for Antiques in the Freeport Area".
