Gearing up for Summer
Summer is upon us, and Brewster House is ready for the new season! There is new carpet in all the queen rooms, new maple floors with carpet runners
on the second floor hallway, and new paint in several areas. We have a new game table and smaller chairs in the parlor, to make it easier to relax
and
enjoy some games.
Freeport is ready for summer, too, with the opening of Freeport Village Station, the new two story shopping area with two levels of parking below.
Among the stores already open are the L.L. Bean Outlet, the Nike outlet, the new Brooks Brothers outlet (the old Brooks Brothers is now their
clearance store), Van Heusen, Izod, and Coach, with more stores opening weekly.
Road Construction on I-295
If you're going north from Freeport, or coming south to Freeport, there will be road constructon on I-295 from Topsham (just north of Freeport) to
Gardiner (just south of Augusta). This year the northbound traffic will be using the southbound lanes, and the southbound traffic will be redirected
down either US 202 (the preferred route) or on I-95.
We have just posted some new packages and specials on our web site for those who may be interested in golf, sailing, or exploring the Maine coast!
Our
Swing & Shop package combines a two night stay with greens fees at Fox Ridge Golf Club and an L.L. Bean gift card and a gift
certificate at Azure Cafe for a great golf getaway.
For the explorers, we introduced the
Lighthouse Tour package, with a two night stay, gas card, book of Maine lighthouses, and a driving tour of
several nearby lighthouses.
These join our
other popular specials, such as Sail into the Sunset, Schooners & Lighthouses, Sails & Tails, and more!
Of course, if you're interested in combining features from more than one special, we'll gladly help you create a package that works for you!
And, as always, if you would like to add additional nights to a package, we always add the room at either the package rate or the standard rate,
whichever is lower.
Maine's premier shopping destination is Freeport. Not only are there over 160 shops, outlet stores and restaurants, but it is the world
headquarters of retail giant L.L. Bean, and home to its several stores (the flagship store, with everthing from clothes to camping gear, furniture,
home goods, gifts and more), the hunting and fishing store, the bike, ski and boat store, and the L.L. Bean Outlet, with a full-scale home store in
the works). But what else is there to do in Freeport, Maine?
"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favorite things." So go the familiar words of the song from The Sound of
Music. One of our favorite things is to introduce first-time visitors to Maine to some of our favorite things.
