This winter season we decided to reconfigure the two two-bedroom suites
on the third floor
(Room Six and Room Seven). Well, one thing leads to another, and before
you know it, changes are everywhere!
each suite had a large room with king
bed, a connecting bath, and a small room with a double bed. However,
these rooms are usually occupied either by two couples or by a couple
with children - possibly adult children. In order to make this more
comfortable for them, we removed the double beds (and found them some
very grateful new owners), and replaced them.
In the smaller room of Room Seven
we replaced the double bed with two twin beds, which can be converted
very comfortable king bed. That gives us the potential for two king
beds in that suite.
Meanwhile, in Room Six,
we replaced the double bed with a brand new queen bed. We considered
there, too, but felt the smaller room just didn't permit it.
Since we were on a roll,
we upgraded one of the queen beds (Room Two) to a wonderful
new pillow-top, and
added some antique seating to Room Five with a
Deacon's Bench we
acquired from a local resident.
We're still working on changes to Room One (which got
brand new twin beds - and can still make into a king that is even more
comfortable than before!). All the other rooms have new pictures on
their individual web pages, accessible from the Rooms page.
We've also done a bit of work to enhance the appearance of things in
the dining room - we'll have pictures of those changes and of Room One
posted on the web site within the next couple of weeks.
Some specials are just too wonderful to lump together with the others,
and this one fits the bill!
If you love to quilt, or would love to learn to quilt, join us at
Brewster House Bed and Breakfast April 18 and 19 to learn techniques to
get the quality you want out of your projects. Single and double
occupancy available. More details are available
here. Bring your sewing machine and fabric and let's get quilting!
We've made some changes on the web site, and have separated our ongoing
packages (the kind we would offer every
year, or even all during the year) like our Babymoon, Honeymoon,
Birthday and Anniversary packages, and given them their own web page.
Next, we re-vamped the Specials
in a couple of ways - to set it up so the newest specials will always
be on top, and the older ones will scroll off at the bottom, in time,
and also to allow those who use a feed reader (for example, the Google Reader)
to subscribe to our Specials feed and be instantly updated with the
One of the specials we would like to draw special attention to is the "February
is for Romance" special (a $50 restaurant gift certificate with a
two night stay). We decided that Valentines Day was entirely too short,
so instead of a special just for that day or weekend, we're celebrating
the entire month of February. Come
