Spring, Outdoors, Maps, and More!

We can tell that, while winter may still have a last gasp of fury, and a snow flurry or two, Spring is definitely on its way to the Maine coast!

Not only have we had days in the high-40's to mid-50's (Farenheit) over the past couple of weeks, but the sun has shone on us, and, as I look out my window, I can see the trees around Brewster House beginning to bud.

Last week we went exploring, trying to visit some of the many places on our Activities pages (Shopping, Dining, Lighthouses, Outdoors, and Other) that we hadn't seen before. The map shows Brewster House and Reid State Park, where we visited.

More about Reid State Park is available here.

By the way, we hope you like the maps, like the one on that page. We're working on putting a lot more of them on the web site, to help our guests find all the wonderful things there are to do in the Freeport area!

The weather was absolutely perfect. The the sun was shining, and the wind was blowing with a little bite, foretelling the snow that would come that night. We enjoyed the beach, and wandered around the Georgetown marina, then down to Five Islands. We noticed the Lobster shack looks deserted, but not for long!

It won't be long before people will be lining up to get lobster right off these docks!
