Freeport's New Village Park Dedicated on July 4
As part of Freeport's July 4th celebration activities, L.L. Bean hosted the dedication of the new Village Park, in Freeport. The park features hiking trails, nature walks, a pavillion and space to picnic, play or just relax.
There were introductions of those who made the park possible, and thanks from L.L. Bean to the community which has, in turn, supported it over the years. It was a very nice celebration.
In addition, we went with some guests, to the Portland Schooner Company where we took their fireworks cruise! We sailed on a schooner nearly 100 years old, anchoring in Casco Bay and watching the fireworks from the water, while we were served fresh pies (red and blue, of course!) from a local bakery.
We were able to see fireworks displays from as far away as Freeport and other nearby communities. We counted at least five different displays at one time!
