Where should I go for Maine Lobster?
Where should you go for a Maine lobster dinner? As our grown kids would say, "Ummmm, Maine?"
OK, so that's not quite what you meant, was it?
Well, there are different answers depending on what type of experience you would like to have. We'll talk about those options after a little background on Maine lobsters.

A Two Hour Cruise on an Old Wooden Schooner
Sounds like the old "Gilligan's Island" theme, doesn't it? The reality is much nicer (and with a better ending, too!).
We've always found so much to do in and around Freeport that we are sometimes a little surprised when someone asks if there is anything to do here. Some aren't even aware of L.L. Bean's flagship store (and the other L.L. Bean stores), or the other 160-plus stores and outlets in town. But the other question is "What else?"

L.L. Bean Summer Concert Series 2008
Shortly after returning home from our holidays in the United Kingdom, we received an email forwarding long-awaited information on the artists and dates for the annual L.L. Bean Summer Concert Series for 2008.

Day 18 (London, England to Freeport, Maine USA)
A sad departure and an eager return. Off to Heathrow about 8:00 a.m. for a 10:50 a.m. departure. We did a bit of last minute souvenir shopping, then it was time to board, and we were off for Washington's Dulles Airport. From Dulles it was on to Portland, where our friend Karen (if you were with us for Day 1 - Karen is Don's better half) met us to drive us home.
It was a long day (especially with the 5 hour time change), but we were happy to be back in familiar surroundings.

Day 17 (Askrigg to London)
We're simultaneously happy to be heading back to our routine, and sad to leave, as this has been a wonderful vacation for us. We could be easily persuaded to start over and repeat the entire thing.
